Interior Painting that Will Change Your Home's Comfort Zone

Your walls can get pretty boring after a few years of looking at the same solid color day in and out. The great thing about having your own home is the ability to customize it to suit your household's personality. If you love providing your home with a little TLC then you might want to consider some interior paining to spruce the place up.

The best thing about painting your home is you don't have to settle for more than one color, nor do you have to stick with a solid design. You will find that painter's tape comes in handy when you are prepping your home for its new design. For starters you will want to to tape off the areas that you don't want painted. This is a basic step, but if you want to create stripes or other cool designs then mark off the areas desired and tape around the areas that will be painted. By doing this you will ensure that you will get straight lines that look perfect every time.

If you plan on using a  stencil or free hand painting on the wall then you will want to choose a cold that isn't too dark for your base coat. Start out by putting the first coat onto the wall, after you clean the wall and patch holes. If you need a second coat then put it on after the first dries. Once everything is dry you can play the stencil on the wall and add the paint. When working with a stencil you will want to choose a color that compliments the base coat, rather than causes an eye sore. If you plan to free hand paint on the wall then draw out your design and begin the work. Of course, you might have to add several coats to the design if you want to get rid of the base coat color.
